Teen Pregnancy

Do you think that there are too many teens getting pregnant? Teenage pregnancy is becoming a huge problem with today’s youth. There needs to be a stop to this madness. There are many ways and other options that teens have besides abortion when they find out that they are pregnant. People should also help teens with their problems when they get pregnant.
What are teens’ first options? Some teens don’t know what to do when they get pregnant. When they first find out they get scared and nervous. Some teens’ parents will not except that they are pregnant and they will physically abuse the pregnant teen. In this case, the teen will take longer to tell the parent, resulting in them not seeing a doctor when they should. They will sometimes wait until it starts showing before they tell the parent(s) or guardian. Also, some teens have a problem when they do not want to keep the baby and they try to get an abortion.
Often times the guys are able to talk the girls into having sex. Some times girls will get sweet talked into having sex. Some examples of this are “if you love me you’ll give it up.” This is the main line that boys say. Some girls are scared that their boyfriends would dump them, so the girls decide to have sex. Then, when they get pregnant the boy does not what to have anything to do with the baby because they are not ready to have a baby. Then, he may act like it’s not his baby but he knows that it is.
This is how some parents take it. Some parents won’t care if their kids get pregnant. Others will try to harm their children because they are so disappointed in their child. This will lead to bad things. Some parents will support their kids and do what it takes to get them through the pregnancy.
Some kids run way when they find out that they are pregnant. They are scared of the reaction that they are going to get from everybody. Perhaps they would rather live by themselves than be with all of the commotion.
Some teens who want to have the baby soon realize that they don’t once the baby is born. They realize how much responsibility, cost, and time comes with the baby and can’t handle it. Cheryl L. Somers said “BTIO is a program that helps teens realize how many responsibilities comes with having a baby.” “There are almost 1,000 girls in this program.” (Teenage Pregnancy Prevention and Adolescents’ Sexual Outcomes) This is a good way to help some teens re think the thought of wanting to get pregnant. It also states that it is in all 50 states. These type of programs should be in more cities.
